Custom made subperiosteal dental implants tend to be more expensive than endosteal implants. Unlike endosteal implants that are embedded into the bones, subperiosteal implants sit on top of the bone. Patients who have difficulty in wearing dentures before because of too much bone resorption can be good candidates for this kind of implants.

Good prognosis comes from a patient with adequate bone support, good oral health and hygiene, acceptable systemic condition and absence of vices like smoking.
